About!

Photo on 2009-11-07 at 10.22Hi, I’m Erin.

I’m 25. I live in Cambridge, Massachusetts in a really cute apartment with my even cuter husband. I love giraffes, knitting, gaming and reading anything from Denis Johnson to Noam Chomsky. I hope to learn how to crochet and make jewelry sometime in the near future. My friends are amazing people, and my family isn’t half-bad either. I graduated from a small liberal arts college with a useless English degree, because it’s foolish to think an eighteen-year-old actually knows what she wants to do with her life when she picks her major.

My defining traits are short hair, short temper, short stature, and a short attention span. Things I am good at include anything requiring a sense of rhythm, eating as much as someone twice my size, having hilarious bedhead, embarrassing myself and editing the hell out of everything. My vices are video games, reading Metafilter at work, delicious beer, using food as a vehicle for hot sauce, blasphemy, apostasy, and indifference. As of April 2009, I have been vegetarian for a decade; I don’t pretend that my diet is healthy. I am crazy in the have-a-diagnosis-and-a-couple-bottles-of-pills kind of way (I blame the patriarchy and crap genes). Oh, I am also good at blaming the patriarchy for all of my problems.

…and this is my website.

This website has at least sort of existed (warning: too lazy to edit versions page further) since February of 2000. I used to hand-code everything – this was back when frames were cutting edge – but now I’m relying on WordPress to do the hard work. I use the Atahualpa theme. The header image is a cropped photo of a geranium. I hope you like the colors, because I picked ‘em out.

I host two of my best friends (who have probably given up on the webdesign game), and an old band site for nostalgia (read: humorous) purposes only.
